What we love about wedding planning is a fact that with organising and designing weddings, we get to meet our couple’s family and friends, but also hear about their love stories, like the one on how they have met. It is amazing when we get to implement some of the details from the couple’s story into, either the wedding ceremony or a wedding reception.
Today we would like to share that of our couple, Amber & Michael.
Just as we have received the professional photos taken on their wedding day few days ago, which we am sharing today, with courtesy of the photographer Nikola Smeric, the photos have been followed by Amber’s text to me saying, “I wish I could have these days again!!! xoxo”, Reading Amber’s comment, made my heart full of joy and took me back to the times, when we started planning their wedding.
As the couple was coming all the way from Washington D.C., USA, it took a lot of planning to organise the group of guests to fly over. The excitement was even bigger, as no one has ever been to Dubrovnik before, so for us it was a great joy when they have discovered and found it to be beautiful! The couple wanted to organise something special for their guests, a day before the wedding, so we planned a boat ride to a beautiful scenery of island of Lokrum, which followed by a lovely dinner at one of the most romantic terraces in Dubrovnik, that of Villa Ruza, on the island of Kolocep!
Amber & Michael’s wedding took place at the Sponza palace on one summer day, which, well, was a disrupted by a rain a bit , however, did not ruin, not even one second of their wedding day! As they, just after saying I do, and taking a group photo, where blessed from the heaven above🙂 it helped, as the rain made a hot day into a very pleasant one! Thus, the result we got, where some amazing photos! This wedding was full of love, joy, laughter and happiness!
After the photo session which took around the old town, the reception took place at the beautiful Pucic palace terrace, at the very heart of the old town.
This time, encouraged by our beautiful bride, we have worked with a different seating plan idea..and we are coming back to the story on how our couple has met. As gingerbread is of the traditional cookies in Croatia, the story had a bigger emotional background, as the first date story was exactly that, gingerbread related. Each gingerbread cookie had a name on the person’s plate, so we made the seating plan fun and sweet! We have implemented many other details that our bride and groom encouraged, like some Croatian specialities, both dishes and Croatian sweets. Decor wise, it was magical..with the drapes both for the ceremony and reception, white hydragea flowers, fairy lights..the reception was beautiful.
It was a huge privilege and an honour to be a part of Amber & Michael’s wedding story. As wise people say, photos can tell more then thousand words! D’Inspiration team is very proud to share these with you..x
